about us

We are four down-home southern gals who were raised in a community rich with culture and folklore. Basically born on the bayou, we share a similar vision with respect for nature, passion to create and love for our community.

bohoMERCANTILE is a gypsy boutique offering handmade jewelry, clothing, pottery, soaps, essential oils and essential waters as well as a growing collection of vintage, salvaged, repurposed and redesigned items. More of a salvaged wood and tin then a brick and mortar we currently only open our doors during the first Friday Bayou Bazaar, but we also host special events and are now offering the Boho To Go Trunk Show where you can host your own party and we come to you with our collections.  Like us on facebook, Boho Mercantile Bayou Bazaar, to stay up-to-date on our current happenings.

bayouBAZAAR is a monthy event held on the 1st Friday of each month from 6 - 9pm. An intimate outdoor gathering to bring together local fashion, food, and music on a monthly basis. Featuring our current creations and special guest artists and crafters along with local + seasonal farm fresh produce, plants, and fresh cut flowers and fresh local music.  Each month should offer something new and interesting!

BAYOU BOHEMIAN is the creative work of Je'Llyn Morvant inspired by nature, folklore and living simply, a homegrown aesthetic with a nod to eco-design. Nurturing the beauty in the unconventional, she enjoys breathing new life into special finds, gathered and collected, that have a story to tell, with roots to the past, harmoniously blending handmade + vintage with fresh trends in fashion. Her original collections are simple, versatile and often vintage-inspired constructed using natural cloth like hemp and cotton and reincarnated vintage textiles. Her jewelry is handcrafted with remnants and relics. Chunky natural stone, locally salvaged copper, leather, found feathers and fabric scraps come together creating easy to wear adornment. You can find out more at bayoubohemian.com.

SECONDLINE JEWELS is the work of Rozalyn Galyean. Bold, eclectic, earthy and elegant. She has been called to create since she was a little girl. She has a captivating way of combining vintage lace, leather, wood, precious stones, metals, and textiles featuring chunks of upcycled drum cymbals, bamboo coral, and hand-hammered copper. Achieving balance through diverse elements is her main aspiration. Rigging up things of beauty is her ultimate passion. You can find Roz online at secondlinejewels.com.

LACEYDU Indigenous...Lush...Elemental... Lacey Dupre is a jewelry designer and ceramicist, anthropologist, naturalist, and Environmental Scientist. These facets form the motif for LaceyDU Designs. Ornamentation is human. From adornments arise our innate distinctions; jewelry gives voice to our culture and our moods. LaceyDU creations explore our engagement with the natural world through the use of warm metals that age beautifully: gold, bronze, copper. Rough, conflict-free gems, silk remnants, curious bones, claws, guilt-free Nutria Fur, and recycled, non-toxic materials are featured and give back to the world. LaceyDU designs are all hand-forged and can be found at www.laceydu.com as well as two locations of Hemline Boutique, River Ranch in Lafayette and on Magazine St. in New Orleans.

NATIVE OWL is the creative work of Jamie Faulk which combines color, various textiles and a play on geometric shapes. She infuses her designs with textures and patterns found in nature. She draws on inspiration from Native American culture and incorporates several jewelry making techniques in her designs. Her jewelry is available at Sky Blue Clothing Boutique in Lafayette and you can find her online at nativeowl.com.
